The Weight Loss thing

I’ve recently lost some weight, and feel like i’ve been receiving a bit of slack from people here and there, because i was not fat to begin with… I just wanted to look and feel the way I did 5 years ago… if I could! I know I am not 20 anymore, so I wasn’t going to be unrealistic about it!

I’ve never been fat. I was pretty much always The Skinny One. Like, skinny… not just normal.

Once I turned about 23, I started filling oput slowly, and becoming more “normal” and less “skinny”. Once I hit 25, I slowly started putting on weight… slowly slowly.

About a year ago, I really wanted to lose those few kg’s (about 5 or so)… I have NO self control with food, and I hate cardio exercise. I also don;t have a scale and lack motivation ;)

Towards the end of 2010 I decided to join Weigh-Less… I was unhappy with how I looked in the mirror and in photos (YES, I was still not fat, but I was overweight for ME… even if it was only slightly).

My goal, was to lose 6kg.

Holy moly – they came off SLOWLY!! 200-500g a week! I know it’s coz I only had a little to lose.

The Weigh-Less thing works for me because I go and weigh once a week – and have the group leader to “answer to”… I know the only way to do this is to do it FOR ME… which is what i’m doing, but i need someone to check on me, and answer to.

I have lost just over 5kg (in about 5 or 6 months! – so it’s been AGES in coming!)… at the last count, I had just 800g to go, until I’m at MY goal weight.

Now the trick will be to stay at this weight.

I felt like the weight was coming off slowly, but wasnt convinced it was really noticeable until the last weekend when a bunch of Bloggirls got together for a photoshoot of Sass Dresses, and Jenty took this photo of me… I look amazing! :D (modest, much!?) I’m pretty thrilled! And THIS picture is going to be my motivation to keep those 5kg off!!
(oh, and i just HAD to buy the dress!)

Oh, and it was JUST weigh-less that changed in my life… I do 2 x 45 minutes of pilates per week and horse ride twice a week. But that is the extent of my exercise.

I saw those pics and thought you were looking amazing. Well done. 5kg does make a big difference.

Its so awesome that you’ve managed to lose what you wanted to lose. Its a motivator for me.
